Space Expedition

Robotics & Embedded Systems Objectives​​

  • 1. Creating a flight computer to collect near space data such as GPS, Altitude, temperature, payload orientation ​, and acceleration. 

  • 5. Applying signal processing by transmitting data from payload when in range. 

Digital Maker & Fabrication Objectives

  • 2. Creating the payload I researched and evaluated trends in the design such as temperature controlling materials like foam. Along with quick set up designs for lower launch times.

  • 4. Creating a flight computer and the structure to house them in winding and cold situations.

  • 5.We had launch dates at the end of the semester and the Payload must be ready by that time. This was a team-based project.

  • 6. Designing and creating payload structures to hold the flight computer and protect it. 

Description:

Space expedition was a class that I was a part of for 3 semesters. The project was to launch a high altitude balloon mission to collect data from the atmosphere. Each semester you have a timeline for the project. The first semester I was part of the flight computer team. In the last 2 semesters, I was the structure lead.
